Aurea premiers music of acclaimed contemporary composers Barbara Kolb (Bulgarian Chant), Nina Young (Memento Mori), and Geoffrey Gibbs (Broad Cove Ballads), with poetry of Alonzo Gibbs and other contemporary poets. This first collaboration of premieres will be followed by a second program of premieres by the same composers, honoring the centennial of the birth of poet Alonzo Gibbs, father of Geoffrey Gibbs. Featuring Katherine Winterstein, violin; Consuelo Sherba, viola; Emmanuel Feldman, cello; Nigel Gore, reader; Chris Turner, reader and harmonica; and Diana McVegh, soprano.
