Weaving Traditions of the Ocean State
An exhibition of the Weavers’ Guild of Rhode Island
June 15, 2014
Timed to coincide with the national conference of the Handweavers’ Guild of America, slated for Providence in mid-July, this exhibition celebrates the heritage of hand-weaving in Rhode Island, and the fine work of Rhode Island’s Guild members over the years. Items will include table linens, towels, coverlets and blankets, rag rugs, curtains, shawls, and other items for the home, woven under a traditional design influence.
Works will be on display in the Sylvanus Brown House through July 20.
