R.I. Independence Day Drill – Captain Tew’s Company/2nd Regiment

Ready, set, drill! Slater Mill will honor Rhode Island Independence Day, an annual May 4th State holiday, with the arrival of Tew’s Company, the 1st Company of the 2nd Rhode Island Regiment of the American Revolution. The Company will offer a field day of drill exercises and a display of Revolutionary War era camp life on Saturday, May 3, from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., as part of Revolutionary RI, a program in celebration of the roots of the industrial revolution and innovation at Slater Mill Historic Site. Rhode Island was the first of the American colonies to enact a repeal of allegiance to the English monarch in the spring of 1776.
