Slater Mill Springs to Life!
Slater Mill celebrates Spring on Sunday March 28th with its first Free For All Sunday for 2010 sponsored by Amica Insurance. Come and enjoy the sun and fun the first weekend of Spring and as a nod to St. Patrick’s Day, learn the fascinating process of wool production with an Irish spin while enjoying an afternoon visiting Slater Mill’s buildings and beautiful grounds. Tour Slater Mill’s Sylvanus Brown House where the children’s book “A Symphony for a Sheep” will be highlighted through interpretation. This wonderful book written by Cynthia Millen and illustrations by Mary Azarian takes you through the process of manufacturing wool from sheep to sweater.
Free For All Sunday (FFAS) is a program designed to allow the public to come to Slater Mill free of charge and participate in various activities. Enjoy a visit with family and friends at this National Historic Landmark located along the beautiful Blackstone River six months of the year. FFAS is offered the last Sunday in the months of March, April, May, June, September and October, (May’s FFAS will be held the week prior due to the holiday weekend).
The Free For All Sunday program is held from 11AM – 3PM.
The next Free For All Sunday will be April 24th and the theme will be Flower Factory.
