Over two hundred years ago, Samuel Slater began manufacturing textiles at his wooden mill on the banks of the Blackstone River. His "curious experiment" in mechanization changed forever the way Americans work and live. You can make your own history here at our beautiful 5.5 acre riverside museum and park complex, right at the birthplace of the American industrial revolution.

The exposed beam ceilings of the Slater Mill and the rumble of the 16,000 pound water wheel in the Wilkinson Mill will transport you and your guests back in time, adding charm and character to any occasion. Our buildings boast impressive views of the Blackstone River and are suitable for the following:
